Working With Families

At Futures, we recognise that many of our young people have experienced trauma or have special educational needs, making strong, trusting relationships with families essential to their emotional and educational development. Our team is committed to working closely with parents and carers to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.

We offer a range of touchpoints to maintain open and meaningful communication:

  • Initial Welcome Meeting
Families are invited to meet with our AP Directors and key staff to establish a shared understanding of the student’s needs and goals.
  • Parent & Carer Connection
Ruth Hughes is available daily from 09:30–10:30 via phone, or by appointment outside these hours, to discuss any concerns or queries that may impact your young person.
  • Student Connection
Nicky Byrne provides dedicated support to students at scheduled times, helping them navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
  • Regular Tutor Contact
Families can connect with their child’s class tutor via phone or email—often as frequently as daily—to stay informed and involved.
  • IEP Review Days
We host three designated IEP days per year to review progress and update individual plans collaboratively.
  • Progress Summaries
Half-termly reports are shared with families to highlight achievements and areas for development.
  • Annual Reviews & Reports
Comprehensive annual reviews and reports are provided to ensure transparency and celebrate growth.
  • Celebrating Success
Our website showcases key events and student achievements, keeping families connected to the wider provision community.
